RISING CO2 CLIMATE CHANGE PROJECTED TO REDUCE AVAILABILITY OF NUTRIENTS WORLDWIDE. ONE OF THE BIGGEST CHALLENGUS TO REDUSING HUNGER AND UNDERNUTRITION AROUND THE WORLD IS TO PRODUCE FOOD THAT PROVIDE NOT ONLY ENOUGH CALORIES BUT ALSO MAKE ENOUGH NECESSARY NEUTRIENTS WIDELY AVAILABLE. OVER THE NEXT 30 YEAR CLIMATE CHANGE AND INCREASING CO2 COULD SIGNIFICANTLY REDUCE THE AVAILABILITY OF CRITICAL NUTRIENTS SUCH A PROTEIN IRON AND ZINC COMPARED TO A FUTURE WITHOUT CLIMATE CHANGE.
